"LET'S GO CRUISING".....
For those that don't know Sinitta is the daughter of a well known Canadian actress & Disco Diva Miquel Brown, who had huge success with several disco singles most notably "So many men" and my all time favorite single "He's a saint he's a sinner", two singles that have gone down in disco history as two well recognized gay anthems. Miquel gave birth to Sinitta when she was 14, and coincidentally happens to be the step sister of another famous Disco singer Amii Stewart. Sinitta has had many songs released that failed to chart very well commercially, but the single "So Macho" was a massive hit after Simon Cowell re promoted it in late 1985 after it flew under the radar previously with little success. We can thank local independent radio stations and DJ's that were committed to exposing these songs to us. I can remember a time when So Macho was being sought after for the song Cruisin', which was a single released a year earlier in 1984, but returned to appear on the B side of So Macho in 1985. "DANCING TO THE HIGH, HIGH, ENERGY"!
A separate remix was released the same year. This was to be the version found on the B-side of So Macho. THE REMIX THE REMIX THE REMIX!
And for the record, it also hung around for over three months at the top of the Central Station Records highest selling singles chart.
